MILAN FASHION WEEK | Trends

Milan Fashion Week has just ended ladies and let’s write what we’ve seen.

Leather, fur and knitwear were the leading trends in Milan too, and their co-usage with other textures was very nice. This time we see high waisted feminine pants with wide legs a lot more. Bodysuits, patches, feathers, bermudas, minimal lines, specially metallic or brocade embellishments, baroque fabrics and accessories, and neon colors stood front.

Leather, fur, wool, velvet, lace, jaquards and buclet are the mostly used fabrics.

Instead of the traditional Scoth plaids we came up with more feminine and modern plaids, florals and wild prints like leopards.

Black as the queen of winter seasons left the crown to gray and camel in Milan. The brightest blues, greens and oranges are seen along with gray, brown, mustard and yellow, red, white and natural tones.

Black scarve-ish bowties, thin belts, statement necklaces with baroque effects and purse bags glitters among accessories.

MILAN FASHION WEEK | Prada

Miuccia told that she took 90’s PRADA out of the chest and presented a wide collection from elegant and feminine cashmere pieces to thick, warm and huge knitted ones. PRADA’s was a playful collection with plaids, cut-outs, rich ruffles on chest, voluminous puffy skirts tight on the waist, knit sweaters, cardigans and dresses. As a known tendency to socks, PRADA this time came out with knitted socks with braids on, and used thin belts and cheerful shoes as accessories. Camel, brown, rust, bright blue and black are the main colors. Sprinkled wools or amorf plaids are seen as patterns. I especially loved those puffy dresses wher cut-out and ruffle trends come together, also the pointed collars accessorized with wool or tiny furs. Cashmere, wool, patent leather are the most used materials.

MILAN FASHION WEEK | Dsquared2

We usually know DSquared2 as very young, very American, very sporty yet sexy; but this time they came out to be all vamp! This may be new to them, but for me no more than a couple of black or red latex…Referring to Dean and Dan twin brotherhood, some models walked the runway together like twins with their resembling costumes and sama hair and make-ups. Nearly all of the collection is red and black, amongst a few gray suits and brown furs. Heels of the thigh-high boots and long red gloves are my favorites, and those coral like patterns on nude arms and necks.

MILAN FASHION WEEK | Albino - No.21

ALBINO:

ALBINO collection has soft shaped designs using again soft and neutral tones. We see above the knees trapezoid cut or ankle lenght pencil slim figures that are used to create capes, coats, dresses and skirt suits. Trois-quart sleeves, high necks and scallop necks are preferred. Here too we see tie-ribbons. Cream, camel, light blue, brown and black are the main colors, those are combined with still patterns. I especially liked the ones which resemble armchair textures. Using different colors inside and outside the costumes gives a feeling of depth.

No.21:

Dell’Acqua who lost his rights to his name and signature company last June who passed a disastrous year and took the spring season off has returned back now with a different name as NO.21! He said he learned a lot from the past, hence focused on wearable clothes and more everyday look than evening wear in this self-financed collection. Long slim silhouettes, blue and camel combinations and masculine details stand out in the collection. Turquoise, fuschia and blue mixed into camel and black at their most vivid tones. A slight lingerie effect created through lace and feathers a bit resembles of his old times.

MILAN FASHION WEEK | D&G - Blugirl

STYLEBOOM is being spoiled and drowned into some advices from its beloved readers throughout this week due to its birthday:)) and now it's time to listen those advices. For starters STYLEBOOM will have a lighter background and will be bilingual:)) Thanks everybody!

D & G:

Although D&G collection provides an ultra lux, super chic snow/ski glamour, mostly it reminds me of the times when we roast chestnuts on the stove! At least to my childhood wearing my mum's knitted sweaters with reindeers and snowflake patterns. Last christmas, I couldn't resist the same nostalgia when I saw one such sweaters in MUDO and bought one. Mini sweaters ended at waist, again knitted shorts, jumpsuits and bodysuits are combined with flowing chiffon maxi skirts and mini bohemian dresses, all accessorized with thin belts and mukluk boots to complete the frame. Finally the collection has ended with snow white romantic dresses of chiffon completed with black tuxedo jackets or vests, and all with black tie -ish scarves.

BLUGIRL:

ANNA MOLINARI too caught the fur trend of the coming season, decided it wouldn't be without fur but she managed it clean(as an environmentalist) using wool instead! Giant and voluminously looped wool buclet is used to design coats, shrugs and snoods, gilets and even bags. Main colors are white, white combined with gold, grey and black. Brown and coffee toned flirty leopard patterns, lace and paillets stand front. Paillets are used in a way that they seem like leaking paints.
